Si las Crónicas de Magnus Bane no me parecían tan necesarias para leer, a no ser que seas una obsesa de Cazadores de sombras como yo, Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy si que cumple este requisito de lectura necesaria. Y es un libro que hay que leer después de haber terminado la saga principal y Los orígenes y por lo tanto, antes de la trilogía Renacimiento. La verdad es que leerlo en inglés fue un reto, ya que es un libro gordito, pero la verdad es que la pluma (real) de Cassandra Clare me pareció muy sencilla a la par que maravillosa. Aunque eso ya lo sabía también con las traducciones.
Como ya sabéis, tras la fatídica guerra que terminó en el último libro, Simon dejó de ser vampiro para convertirse en un cazador de sombras. La verdad es que cuando había leído el libro por primera vez me sorprendió muchísimo, porque no me esperaba que Simon pudiese llegar a convertirse en uno. Y, sin menospreciarlo, no daba ni un palo por él. Pero la verdad es que aquí me ha sorprendido muchísimo. Es como una persona totalmente diferente y madura, pero sin obviar sus inseguridades y su lado friki. De hecho, será en este libro también en el que veremos como es realmente la iniciación y el entrenamiento en los Institutos. De hecho, me pareció la mejor parte del libro.
Otra de las cosas que más me han gustado es que a través de los relatos hemos podido no solo conocer a personajes nuevos, sino que reencontrarnos con los antiguos, y conocer más cosas sobre ellos. Sobre todo de la vida de Will, Tessa, Jem y el pequeño Jamie. De verdad, esos han sido mis favoritos, junto al de Magnus. Aquí abajo os dejo la puntuación de lo que me ha parecido cada relato:

De verdad, si tenéis la oportunidad de leer este libro no la perdáis, aunque sea en inglés. Se entiende muy bien y os vais a encontrar un montón de cosas maravillosas.
